Don’t know about you, but I sometimes hit a dead spot. Browsing through my Lightroom catalogues and I see nothing of interests, everything looks boring and tired. Even though I know I’ve got some brilliant photos in there, I just can’t be bothered…
This is what I call a Dead Spot.
Instead of taking on addictive drugs or binge drinking (which I already do on a regular basis), I go to the zoo.
Yes, to the zoo.
Why a zoo you ask? Well, I love furry animals for a start, such as the Red Panda, and the Koalas, they are just so cute!! I feel when I am at the zoo, my camera comes up to my eye and I click the shutter without overthinking, I don’t think about the lighting or the composition, I hit that shutter because the animal is cute and I want a photo of it.
Subconsciously, however, my mind do take into account the lighting and the composition.
I also only take a single prime lens for the whole day, this not only means I have to zoom with my feet but also let go of situations where my lens won’t reach. Sometimes its hard to let go and instead of taking a photograph, I just lean back and enjoy the memory.
All taken with a 135mm f2 at The Australia Zoo.

Probably not a good pond for a swim.

Nap time.

Nap time x2.

Nearly extinct.

Victoria took this photo.
7.
Crickey!!
8.
Possums are fairly common in the suburbs, but they are more like a super fierce cat if you try to go near them.
9.
Red Panda is my absolute favourite animal, must go back again when its not sleeping.
10.
Just like a baby, except with sharp claws.

There is no wonder why 135mm f2 is such a popular lens.
12.
Out for a walk.

The three musketeers poses for the camera.
