It was the first traditional Vietnamese wedding I have experienced and it was amazing!! The colors, atmosphere, fitting 60 people into a tiny room, and a whole roast pig for lunch. What more can I say.
Building a rapport with the bride is one of the most important thing to do at the start, other things include knowing your gear, which you should do regardless of what you shoot.
Enjoy!!

This is where I was positioned when taking shots in a tight room, I also broke the plastic chair I was standing on… lesson here is to always check whatever you are standing on is sturdy enough.
I am using a Black Rapid R Strap btw, Canon 1Ds3 with 35L + Flash, Canon 1D3 with 85.

Here you can see the AB800 in the background, I deliberately put both of them on one side of the room for a bit more directional light and some shadows

While waiting to go to the reception, I got some strobist fun with one of the kids who just can’t stop running around the house.
