Lens Flare, What Is It Good For by fHphoto

Not everyone like lens flare, which is understandable. Lens flare in fact is described by some as a flaw to the design of the lens.

However, it doesn’t matter if you like lens flare or not, it does have interesting uses. Not only can it improve the mood of your image artistically, it can also be used to hide things in your photo.

I’ve used lens flare in the photo below to hide the background. One thing to be mindful of when using large amount of flare is the loss of contrast in the image.

Settings: 1/200 @ f2.8 @ 100ISO … the lens was 70-200mm f2.8 @ 165mm
